This is due to the majority of the the Memory Sticks now being decorated and supplied directly Ex-Factory in China. With fluctuating Technology prices and the Australian Dollar coupled with cost effective Air Freight (due to the small size of USB's) it's just not frugal to stock massive ranges of USB Flash Drives in Australia.
Naturally, limited local stocks has also meant limited range choice. If there are any locally held USB drives, colour choice is usually Black or Blue, so if you have Urgent requirements, pickings have been slim.
